Magma Squad Hits Sites across UK

Thin Lizzy may have sung about the boys being back in town, but for the nation’s building sites in May it was all about the girls – the C.K Magma Hit Squad girls, that is!

To celebrate the award-winning premium storage brand’s first birthday, the Hit Squad beauties took to the roads again, and while they were stopping off in North London, we invited Professional Electrician & Installer, and Professional Builder along to join us – well, it would have been rude not to!

A 10am start at a Wilmot Dixon building site in St. Albans meant there was plenty of time for a lie-in before the editors layered up for the miserable May weather and joined us on-site. On arrival, they were aptly ‘suited and booted’ in Magma gear, and made their way on-site to gauge the workers’ reaction to the girls, and of course, the truckload of Magma freebies.

As well as the range of freebies on offer, which included designer sunglasses for when the sun comes out; beanie hats for keeping warm when it inevitably goes back in; and mobile phone holders to keep your precious smartphones safe on site, the girls also launched a competition whereby one lucky tradesman will win £500 worth of C.K Magma goodies.

If you were lucky enough to meet the girls in May, remember to log-on to to register your unique dog-tag code and you’ll be in with a one in five chance of winning. For those sites that weren’t lucky enough to host a site visit from the Magma Hit Squad, you can still enter your details to be in with a chance of winning.

After a great reception at St Albans, it was on to Hemel Hempstead, to visit the site of the Hemel Gateway project by KIER construction, where the girls, despite the sporadic rainstorms were in great spirits and brightened up a lot of tradesmen’s days. The editors battled though the elements with the help of a mug of strong coffee, and Magma beanie hats.

With Facebook tagging going into overdrive, the Hit Squad girls even took pride of place in one or two profile pictures – and it was smiles all round from the tradesmen!

If you saw the Hit Squad at your building site, and posed for a picture (or even if you didn’t pose), ‘like’ C.K Magma on Facebook ( and see if you can spot yourself or your mates, and get tagging!

If you’d like to see the Magma girls on your building site, we have good news – they’re hitting the road again in September and we’ve teamed up with Professional Electrician & Installer, Professional Builder and Professional Heating & Plumbing Installer, plus their respective Apprentice titles to offer one lucky tradesman and one lucky apprentice the chance to win a visit, as well as a Magma caseload of tools, specific to your trade.

To enter this exclusive competition, simply pick up June’s issue of the Professional titles, or the Summer issue of the Apprentice titles and see how you can enter.

Closing date is 01/08/12 – visit will take place in September.
